Ashtanga Yoga Retreat 2020

Kythira Ashtanga Yoga Retreat with Philip Murdoch

Greece September 13-20, 2020

We are happy to offer an Ashtanga Yoga retreat on the peaceful and pristine Island of Kythira, where you will be able to deepen your practice under the guidance of Philip Murdoch.

From 2004 Philip Murdoch taught the Ashtanga Yoga method while living in Athens and continued to develop his teaching technique when he moved to Tuscany, Italy. Currently he is teaching at Slow Yoga Studio which he opened with his partner in 2018.

Philip Murdoch discovered Ashtanga Yoga in early 2000 while living in London where he began attending mysore classes at the Diorama. His dedication began in earnest when he took the decision to travel to Mysore, India in order to study at the KPJAYI , under the guidance of Sri K. Patthabi Jois and his grandson Sharat Jois. His studies at the shala began in 2004 and in the subsequent years he returned for three month periods to deepen his practice. When he wasn’t learning about yoga, he dedicated the rest of his time in India learning classical indian flute with his teacher Ravi Shankar Mishra.

This retreat will concentrate on the Primary series, it is designed for students who are interested in progressing in their practice (also open to students who are not yet completing the primary series)

After your yoga practice, you will have plenty of time to explore the island, with its beautiful beaches, its meditative inland walks and its charming small villages.
